Sorry that this post is so late! We were so busy with family and friends, and then our whirlwind camping trip really started to take its toll on my energy level. I had planned on writing in the car on our drives, but 2 crying kitties had other plans for me. At any rate, here is the first of several overdue blog posts!
After our fun filled time in Salem, we made it 40 minutes north to Tualatin, Oregon. We stayed in
Roamer's Rest RV Park. Since we are new to this whole camping in RV parks, I am always surprised at how different they are all. This one felt very cramped to each other and the roads felt very narrow. But, really, we had about as much space between us and our neighbors in some of the other RV parks.

Narrow road, close neighbors, and a shortish pull through for our 36 foot fiver plus Drogo. |
The bathroom/shower/laundry house was really nice, but it was a bummer that there was no table at all to sit at or to BBQ on.
|
It was narrow, but we did have a bit of lawn to sit around on and visit. |
I am really happy that our cats are getting more and more used to being around other campers. At the very beginning, they would run and hide if they saw or heard another person. But they are getting much more relaxed even in cramped RV parks, which is really good news, since we have another RV park coming up in Yellowstone.

This park is literally on the Tualatin river. Some campsites are lucky enough to back up on the river and had a bit of a view through the trees, but the best views come from walking down a grass lawn and path.

If you keep walking on the path, you come across this creepy shack that I am sure is completely harmless, but looked sinister.

Creepy shack made creepier by my fun camera settings. |
Eventually the path puts you out at a canoe/kayak boat launch area on the river under the bridge.

Obviously, it was a great place to find an oar to mess around with!

And father/son bonding time!
The next day was time for the annual Fourth of July family BBQ.

Beautiful back yard and weather for the BBQ |
It was a great time getting to spend time with family and friends. As usual, the food (and drinks!) were amazing! It was a great way to end our time in Tualatin and to get ready to head to Fort Stevens State Park for a few days of camping at the coast

ReplyDeleteI apparently was really enjoying that martini, along with the view of the Tualatin river!
