Spending the 4th at the vet

UPDATE: the vet told us that Kora somehow has picked up fleas on this trip even though we only keep her inside. Also she may have a stubborn hairball that is upsetting her tummy. So they gave her fluids since she hasn't been drinking, gave her a hairball treatment, and gave her some front line for thefleas. They seemed to think she will be OK, which I'm relieved to hear!

Travelling with pets is interesting. We are on our 3rd week of our trip and have learned a lot about how the cats react to it. I am pretty hyper sensitive to both of their behaviors since this is new to all of us and I want to make sure we aren't doing anything to hurt them.

For the past few days Kora has not been acting quite like herself. She has been hiding out in the corner of the bedroom and not seeming very interested in what is going on. I thought that maybe the heat was getting to her because even though we have air conditioning, the temperature in the fifth wheel gets warmer than she is used to at home. She also has been scratching herself a lot, which we just assumed had to do with being in so many different climates and making her skin dry. Anyway this morning she tried to vomit but nothing came up and I haven't been able get her to eat anything (even treats) for over 24 hours. So now we are here waiting in the emergency vet office to see what (if anything) is wrong with her.
